The Silver Lake Strikers of the Kingston Baseball & Softball League are pleased to announce their First Annual Summer Softball Camp, to be held in Kingston, MA.

Camp Summary:
This is an all-around skills camp that will provide a structured environment for girls of varied ages and skill levels who are interested in improving their softball skills. Our staff is dediated to making sure we will provide a fun and enjoyable experience for all campers, staff and visitors.
We will supply comprehensive and expert instruction in all phases of softball play. Pitching mechanics, hitting fundamentals, position play and base running will all be covered.
Players will learn from some of the best softball instructors in the area. These instructors have been high school, college and professional softball players and/or coaches.
Players Receive:
12 hours of elite, professional instruction
Opportunity to meet and learn from premier players and coaches
Low player to coach ratio
Position specific instruction for every poistion with verbal assesment of skills throughout camp
Campers will have the opportunity to meet and take photos with the visiting experts and staff members at the end of the day throughout the week.
Select awards and prizes will be handed out to campers on final day including a tuition waiver for next year's summer camp!
Detailed Camp Description:
Campers will be separated by age, skill level, and occasionally by position. All campers will have the opportunity to work with each and every member of our expert camp staff.
These are the things you can expect to be able to work on while at camp:
Windmill pitching
Catching (position)
Hitting and bunting
Throwing fundamentals
Infield & outfield positional play
Base-running and sliding
Morning sessions will be dedicated to mechanical instruction in the various areas of softball play. Lunch break will be from 12:00PM to 12:30PM. Afternoon sessions will include specialty positional instruction (pitching, catching, infield, outfield), and will involve some game circumstances and scrimmaging.
We will hold afternoon scrimmages and games which will give an opportunity for the campers to display their skills to their fellow campers, the staff and all welcomed parents and visitors.

Instruction will be provided by coaches and players affiliated with the Kingston, Halifax, and Silver Lake Softball Programs, including Coaches Brad Colton, Jack Riordan, Dave O’Leary, Scott Milbert, Dana Harris, and John Balerna. Current college players Elizabeth Murphy (short stop at Wellesley College) and Marlee Haigh (catcher at American International College), and the 2012 16U Silver Lake Strikers Softball Team (all former players with the 2010 14U EMass State Champ Halifax Hurricanes and the 2011 14U EMass State Champ Kingston Kannons.) There will also be celebrity expert coaches who will speak and provide instruction in specialty fields such as pitching, hitting and playing the catcher position.
Camp Facilities The Opachinski Athletics Fields, located on Pottle Street in Kingston, MA is one of the premier youth outdoor athletic complexes in southeastern Massachusetts. The facility is made up of five top-notch softball diamonds, and is the home of the Silver Lake Strikers and the Kingston Youth Baseball & Softball League (KYBSL).
Meals at Camp
The concessions stand will be open to serve hot dogs, hamburgers, and cheeseburgers as well as bottled water, Powerade/Gatorade and other snacks. However, campers are encouraged to bring their a lunch and drinks. Coolers are welcome.
Softball Items to Bring to Camp:
Softball or other athletic clothing
Ball cap or visor
Sliding pad
Glove
Cleats
Bat, batting gloves and helmet (if available).
The camp will have some extra equipment to loan.
Sun screen, cooler, and extra water bottles are highly recommended!
Check-In Location and Instructions: Campers should arrive by 8:30AM on the FIRST day of camp for check-in and at least 15 minutes early each day. Check-In will take place at the Concessions Stand/Tent Area. Registrations tables will be set up by age group.
